Some kids just cut and paste question after question of their assignments in here. I'm all for helping inquisitive minds, but I personally draw the line at freeloaders. What do you think?

As a teacher, I completely agree. Therefore, I don't just "answer" their questions. I may give them some information so that they can then answer their questions on their own, but anyone who outright answers what is obviously homework questions is hurting more than helping.

Additionally, if I rate questions, I ALWAYS GIVE A THUMBS DOWN to any answers that are just answers and offer no explanation or instruction on how to get those answers.

You may not agree with me, but, alas, cheaters are cheaters . . . those that copy and those that allow others to copy are all cheaters.

I actually saw that today. Someone had listed a series of questions, each one with a phrase and a fill-in-the blank. If I was still in school, I personally wouldn't trust half of these people on YAnswers to give me the answers to my homework.

I completely agree with you. I think it's okay to come on here for homework help, but no "cutting and pasting" as you put it. I like to think that I'm actually helping people LEARN when I'm answering their questions - not just doing their homework for them.

Being new to this, I fell into the trap but I won't do it again.

Kids! They just have it made nowadays, don't they?

It' s quite amusing, though. They're pretty ingenious if you ask me. However, from now on, I shall not be aiding and abetting them with their homework. Perhaps a clue here and there . . . I'm not that heartless. :o)

I have asked one but all i wanted was to know how to do it because i needed help. I would never ask one that just needed the answer becuase the point of homework is to help you for tests and if you don't do your homework then it will show on your test mark

I am a GT student ( two levels above AP) and I have a GPA of 3.85 which is hard to maintain, but I wouldn't dare ask or answer a homework question for someone else. I advise everyone else to avoid doing this. It's just not fair!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sure I'll answer them. If it's something really easy why not? I know it's not helping them learn anything, but they're just going to fail the class if they never put anything down.

And besides, it's not like they'll pass their tests without our help and since tests are worth the most...they're still going to fail the classes...

If they want to cheat...let them cheat. It'll come back and get them later...

If I feel they are just trying to get out of working I will post incorrect answers to deter this type of behavior. If I feel they are searching for more insight I will give correct information that I know to be true and my guided opinion.Probably no "sure" fire way to tell the difference though...

I have no problem giving them the answer. It will show on their exams or what not that they have no clue about the subject matter and will be asking me if I want fries with my order in a few years.
