Considering all the controversy about Bush's Guard service during Vietnam, this is a very good question!!

I don't really know how I feel. My brother is in the Guard and is supposed to be going. Don't get me wrong - I'm very proud of him for upholding his obligation and he knew this could happen when he signed up years ago.

National means "Nation" meaning that they are there to defend the Nation and that is the role of the National Guards. They have no other business outside the Nation, PERIOD!

sure it truly is really instantly ahead, even as i became in the army we had many non-those who've enlisted...it truly is a similar with all the military. There are 2 issues to be stated about this: a million) Serving with the military does no longer assure you any particular privileges to citizenship (even with the reality that the army had a application for decades for particular international places below our jurisdiction and after any such tremendous type of years of service, they were given it) 2) you would possibly want to properly be restricted to particular assignments. for instance, non-voters are unable to be in categorized assignments at the same time with intelligence, etc. Your recruiter can quite allow you to recognize what you could and can't do.

No I don't think they should. They are our national guards, not international guards. But you know if we didn't send them then there would more then likely be a draft. I guess you could take your pick then.

No b/c they aren't gaurding anything except paranoid leaders who fear repercussion from their mistakes. If US was invaded then thats another story. They should be fighting the border war, hypothetically
