I honestly dont think you can find out what makes a person tick but I just ask because it seems the psycologist I have seen use there knowledge to control people. I deal with the mentally ill and the way some of the people treat them that work with them is to own there thoughts.

Well if it's a cynical answer you're looking for...the goal of psychology is to keep people enslaved by getting inside their heads, determing what they or you think is wrong & then prescribe drugs (& fatten the pockets of bilionaire drug companies) to keep them ill, to control them. The goal of psychology should be to understand the human mind so that we can help people to lead better lives but after some of the crap I've seen, I don't think this is actually the case. I don't know if anyone seeing a psychologist is actually "cured" & many of the drugs they prescribe (prozac is a favourite) are actually more harmful than beneficial in many cases (10% of those on prozac will commit suicide/homicide. 1 in 10!) Sometimes the side effects are worse than the illness. (Some anti-depressants actually warn on the box that they "may cause depression"! Ironic!) I think doctors are too eager to prescribe pills (they probably get a commission from the drug companies.

What people really need is a healthier way to deal with issues: behavioural therapy, healthy diet, exercise, love & support. But it's easier to make them pop a pill, right? They don't do lobotomies & electroshock therapy anymore thank God but they still have drugs to turn people into zombies...

The ultimate goal of psychology is to heal.

It has nothing to do with bunnies. A lot of people have had horrific experiences, or have lacked basic needs in their early lives.

This often mangles the human psyche.

Psychology is about understanding this, and helping the person to cope with whatever it was that messed them up.

Yes, there are those in the field who are themselves mangled, and use psychology for mangled purposes. But that's abuse, not use, of psychology; not its intended purpose.

Healing from the manglement; that's what it's about.

God already answered that in his Word. He knows what makes us tick. He made us.

Help to make a bunny filled wonderland or enslave the entire race in thought control?
That's the Anti Christ's way of doing things in a few years coming from European Control.

I think its pretty clear where I think they are going.
You are right and God has allowed you to see what is going on so that you may change your mind (Repent) and walk with him in his ways not the world's ways, which is the devil's ways. It's a set up and it will mean the end of mankind as we know it unless you are one of the few that accepted Jesus (Yesuha) as their savior, as God's son, raised from the dead, who died for our sins against God Laws. In him there is HOPE!

You're way behind. It is not what they will find out, it is what they have found out, already.

Psychology or the study of the human mind is not a new field, it is old. Many, many things are known about the human mind and how it "ticks".

'Psychology' is only a word and mind reformation is a old as Rome. The aim of any study is as individual as the student. Thought control has far less wisdom to it than liberation for the Spirit. The common person is made so stupid as to believe meaningful individuality is ownership for private property. Power through ownership becomes key to ideal self realization and that right is an extendable right but not an extended right by virtue of being a human being. Acceptance as an ideal human is earned, and an earning human is an ideal human.

the goal of psychology in the end should be determined by the client in collaboration with the therapist it should not be about any kind of control..except your own control over the way you want to live your life as defined by you

To understand and define the human psyche.
What would be done with that knowledge is anyone's guess.
