In the latest election, as well as the Presidential election in 2004, Democrats complained about voter identification policies.

What is wrong with wanting to make sure the voters are who they say they are, and don't vote twice?

Chattterus...if people are so poor that they can't afford an ID, how would they be legally allowed to work, or in some cases, receive their welfare benefits?

Because the Democrats know that their constituents are more likely to be here illegally, have lost the right to vote (due to felony convictions) or willing to disregard the one-person, one-vote rule. They believe that since they are more compassionate, caring and smarter than Republicans, they should have as many votes as as they want, even though the electorate as a whole is roughly evenly divided between Democrats and Republicans. And don't complain, because if you do you are a racist (the trump card in all their arguments).

The answer is obvious, The dems wanted to allow anyone who would vote for them, registered or not, in their district or not, to be allowed to vote. The problem for the Democrats is that so many of them are illiterate, can't figure out how to operate a punch card system because they can't read the directions. Notice that this time, since they won back power, all of a sudden there was no voter fraud or problems with punch card or electronic voter machines that had plagued them in the past.

They are afraid it is a step towards doing some of the dumb stuff that was used after the Civil War to ensure blacks could not register and vote.

I don't have any problem showing identification. And I don't think we will return to "procedures" to ensure a group of people cannot vote.

Its time to stop fussing about what happened years ago, and focus on HOW ARE WE GONNA MOVE AHEAD?

I guess we are to smart to clue onto the electoral college. One must understand disinformation versus misinformation.

Should I be able to use the same card to vote as my library card and is that considered two for the price of one or because of all the perks I won't consider the cost.

It would have the effect of stopping poor people without licenses from voting which would hurt democrats and help republicans. That is why republicans are for it and democrats are against it.

That is the issue. Not all legit voters have IDs.

Why is there such an uproar if Barack Obama makes a mistake? for the comparable reason. the two are intense profile figures interior their party hierarchies, and as such have a extensive quantity of enemies the two from rival factions interior their very own events, besides as being objectives of threat for different events. positioned purely, the greater you have, the greater human beings % to take it from you, and in politics a solid approach for that's a solid previous sort character assassination - demonising a parent by using making their seem incompetent, stupid, morally/ethically bankrupt (properly-known whilst attempting to discredit somebody to the religious/ethical brigade), corrupt (properly-known in Parliamentary structures, relatively in Europe) or insufficiently patriotic/jingoistic (properly-known interior the US in specific, yet usable someplace else in cases of conflict, i.e. uk in the process the Falklands conflict). Palin is an somewhat common aim as her loss of expertise of foreign places coverage subject concerns promises assorted ammunition for her enemies, mutually as her loss of experience in coping with common and in intensity media scrutiny it is elementary in Washington DC, yet not in Anchorage, potential her propaganda group is unquestionably wrongfooted - being too sluggish to get in pre-emptive assaults, avert smears or launch counter-assaults that truly stick. The libs don't want anyone to know that most of their voter base is not legal. From illegal aliens, to dead people, to others that can't be legally identified, they would lose most of their base that helps them whine about being half of the country.

People always have to whine about something. I think it's great that they verify that we are who we are. What's to say an individual is not getting paid to cheat of something like that.
