I would say...(other than lack of money)...the fear of failure. Risk often means that you could possibly lose. And no one likes losing.

Your question seems to assume that risk and adventure are things everyone wants.
I don't.
I don't like risk.
It isn't an obstacle so much as a lack of desire.
