Hello guys,
I am creating my own website and would like to know what is the order in which you would use the above?

1. Use photoshop or image ready to make the look of the page (background color and pictures and text)....then....

2. Use the above as a template and activate the previous text into live links using dreamweaver....then....

3. Use flash to add special effects to little parts of the page....then....

4. What would I use fireworks for? From what I gather, this would be the best way to get my pics to upload time really fast?

Do I have this right? Also, I do not know any html or programming, but from what I understand Dreamweaver will write the code for me even if I design everything in design mode?

Thank you guys for the help!

1. Use Photoshop or Fireworks to create the mock-up images for your pages.

2. Totally optional, but ImageReady can split the image into bits useful for templating

3. Use Dreamweaver to write the code and lay out the image components to re-create in HTML the mock-up you made.

Edit - also, you are correct that Dreamweaver will write the HTML code for you in design mode. That is the point of a WYSIWYG editor - it handles the code so that you can focus on the end product. Obviously this has its limitations, but for most designers it is adequate.

4. Use Flash to fill in any parts you want to be animated.

InDesign is for print design, you don't need that for web projects. Adobe Photoshop is the best image editor. Fireworks is OK and I use that for animations and smaller projects. You will likely use Adobe Photoshop the most to create graphics and Dreamweaver to code the site.

A knowledge of basic HTML will still help, although not necessary.
