Wow. Frog (below) excuses his addiction due to his drug of choice yet does not appear to have the same compassion for those who chose a different drug. Thus the rational of the far right.

Nytrainop (below) claims that I am "twisting the facts". Posing a factual question equates to twisting the facts in the eyes of the far right. Please elaborate on the facts that I have twisted.

Yes, logically speaking, and with respect to integrity, he should practice what he preaches and leave the country. Of course logic and integrity have no bearing on the mindset of conservative mouthpieces like Limbaugh, and that is why he and his sheepish listeners don’t readily see the obvious hypocrisy with respect to his rhetoric and his actions

Conservative pundits and politicians for over 30 years have maligned drug users, even people who use relatively harmless drugs like marijuana on a recreational basis, and yet many of them resort to prescription drugs or alcohol to provide escapism. What is the difference? If one is considered a crime shouldn’t the other be considered one as well. If murder with a gun is considered a felony, does it make the crime more acceptable if the assailant used a knife instead? Of course not.

So the only thing distinguishing the conservative drug addict – and trust me there are plenty of them – from others is semantics. There is no more virtue to numbing oneself from the travails of life using alcohol verses marijuana.

Rush Limbaugh is a fat, lying hypocrite. He has said repeatedly over the last ten years that DRUG ADDICTS ALL BELONG IN JAIL. Now, for apologists and weasels and little sh*ts to come on here and make excuses for his behavior and lies by saying he was addicted to a "legal" drug makes them nothing more than the lowest kind of sycophant I can imagine. They're so afraid of losing their master they make up fantastical stories to protect him.

He's a weak drug abuser. HE BROKE THE LAW TO GET THE DRUGS. End of conversation. If his so-called principles mean anything, he should turn himself over to the police and serve a sentence.

But he won't. Because like all conservatives the rules they insist on are meant for other people, not themselves. They are, of course, above that. Which makes them hypocrites, uselss windbags that real adults should send to prison and ignore.

well, if that's what he said..then yes, he means himself too..

He is the biggest hypocrite ever...I cant believe so many decent, older adults fell for his deceit and bull crap...

**and I just want to add : there are many people who legitamatly benefit from the use of prescription " painkillers"..these people do not scam doctors and do what they can to get multiple prescriptions for their medicine by different doctors at the same time. Legitimate users do not use the drugs to get high..I know this for a fact, I work in the medical field and I am also suffering from a dehabilitating disorder where the correct amount and usage of painkillers benefits me to be able to work full time and live a semi-normal life...

I think Rush should get the same type of conservative "compassion" he dishes out...CBS did an article about the drug fraud charge he got out of by agreeing to get drug treatment:
http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2006/04/28/national/main1561324.shtml

Before his drug addiction, Rush was quoted as saying: "Drug use, some might say, is destroying this country. And we have laws against selling drugs, pushing drugs, using drugs, importing drugs. ... And so if people are violating the law by doing drugs, they ought to be accused and they ought to be convicted and they ought to be sent up," on his short-lived television show on Oct. 5, 1995.

Must be nice to get such a sweet deal...

Sending them to Turkey would definitely solve the problem.

The Dutch decided to crack down on dealers and users, so the cartels moved to Turkey. The Turks got upset because it didn;t suit their tourist image , so they passed a law to publicly execute drug dealers and users if they were caught. The Cartels moved operations back to Amsterdam quick smart . The devil you know is better than being executed by the Turks.

This is not a political question. Rush is not a politician.
He's a radio host with the largest percent of listeners
in America. I really don't think he said that to begin
with as I listen to him most every day, and he definitely
is not a drug dealer. He's not leaving today, tomorrow,
or anytime after that. Sorry to disappoint you.

He became addicted to the drugs after his doctors over prescribed him painkillers. I am not defending him, I pity him because of his health problems and his subsequent addictions, but the left cannot silence Rush. Even this whole Fairness Doctrine is just another example of selective free speech by the left!

My favorite part is when Limbaugh went crying to the ACLU for help. Speaking of the Limbaugh family values, how many wives is he up to?

while his staement was uncaring and insensitive, he was addicted to legal, prescription drugs.Much like people get addicted to coffee or cigarettes. I don't think rush was robbing anyone, ignoring his kids, contributing to inner city violence and murder, supporting terror groups, etc with his habit. Just another example of the left trying to twist facts around fit their agenda, without regard to the truth.
