I won't wear mascara without a primer. I found that if I don't use a primer first that my mascara smears and wipes off easy. I use Lash Boost by Stila, although the lash primer by Mary Kay is very good also. Mascara primers usually boast being able to thicken lashes and stuff but I haven't noticed that. I love them because they actually make my mascara stay on (even if I cry!) without having to use a waterproof formula. For my wedding day I used Lash Boost and followed it with a regular mascara. It lasted all day long and I felt beautiful! Looking at the pictures there is no smudging or running or anything, even at the end of the day!

I dont like primers at ALL. This is just my opinion. But i assuming youre talking about the white coat that goes on before? Like those mascaras with the primer on one end and the regular mascara on the other end.. i think theyre a huge rip off. And they clump majorly.

Yes! Be sure to let the first coat dry thoroughly before applying the second. You will have lashes that will make anyone totally jealous!
