I'm half Asian and I find Family Guy to be pretty hilarious. It doesn't target Asians--it targets everyone. Look at Peter Griffin himself--is he some idealized white American male? No, he's actually protrayed as a complete idiot but you don't see (sane) white people complaining about how Peter Griffin is making fun of them. Don't take Family Guy seriously, it's a satire show with a lot of shock value. It actually makes fun of the people who are bigots or racists.
There are lots of shows on TV that portray Asians without making them look bad--there's Heroes, Grey's Anatomy, Law and Order...

a touch my puppy peeve - Asian = absolutely everyone from the continent of Asia (Indians, jap, chinese, Mogolians, Arabs, Afghanis, Koreans are all Asians). time-honored lifestyle emphasizes that Asians technique of Oriental ancestry - it truly is somewhat stressful IMO. anyhow, American media has a tendency to charm to close that it would want to't be racist to Blacks or African human beings, yet they are regularly somewhat racist to Asians. For some reason that is tolerable and in a lot of cases proper to portray Asians negatively. In different cases they in basic terms undeniable exoticize Asians - exhibiting them as 2 dimensional stereotypes, speaking with accents or used for comedian alleviation. little or no will change, because human beings seem to appreciate this stereotype and do not whinge about it being racist. Mark Wahlberg assaulted and blinded and stated all sorts of racial slurs to this Vietnamese guy even as he became youthful, he did reformatory time. yet back even as he were given out human beings thoroughly forgot and surpassed over what he had performed. the guy now has a positive valuable occupation, even as Mel Gibson says something both as undesirable and is in basic terms about blacklisted and refrained from from Hollywood (rightly so). an same might want to were performed to Wahlberg.

My wife is Asian and she is not offended. It's just funny. Don't be so sensitive. Besides, except for the ability to drive a car properly, lol, Asians really have nothing to be made fun of. BTW, my wife is a kickass driver , but my mother in law is going to kill someone someday.

Relax. You're looking to deep into this. Did you see Borat? That was much worse in terms of demeaning to another culture. But after seeing the move I realized that it's purpose was to open everyone's eyes to the ignorance we all posses as a society. I am certain that it's the same with the TV that offend you.

Shows like Family Guy and South Park insult every type of person--they are quite equal opportunity in their portrayals of everyone.
In the non-animated TV dramas and comedies, I think they are finally trying to fit every group in as equals--it took quite a while--particularly for the Hispanics to be appreciated in these types of shows--but I think things are getting better.
