The material in typical tampons can be dangerous, during any type of flow. I got cervicitis from using OB tampons, because the threads came out a little at a time, and remained in me. I definitely suggest using all natural organic tampons, especially if the flow is very light. And yes, the lower absorbency, the better. If it is not enough protection, try a natural pantiliner.

The size doesn't matter all that much as long as you replace it often. You can even put a Super Ultra absorbancy tampon in at that point, but you might have to take it out in 4 hours versus the 6-8hours recommended... but then hours are relative to your body's ability to grow the bacteria leading to TSS but I would think 4-5 hours is safe for most people.

As long as you're following the directions for their use, you should be fine using the tampons at any point in your period
.
"These days getting TSS (toxic shock syndrome) from a tampon is uncommon. According to recently released statistics from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, only about one in 100,000 women will contract TSS from a tampon, down from 12 in 100,000 20 years ago. In 1997, only five confirmed TSS cases related to menstruation were reported, compared with 814 cases in 1980. "

I'm no expert.. but i do think that wearing a light flow tampon.. for your light flow.. should be fine! Just make sure you switch to a heavy flow tampon when your flow increases!

I would recommend a panty liner on the very very light days a dry tampon can cause itching and excessive dryness that could result in discomfort

Yes you can but be sure NOT to leave them in any longer than 4 hours to reduce your risk of TOXIC shock syndrome
TSS there should be information about it on the info thing that came inside your tampon box.

Yea, there's no problem with that, but I would suggest wearing a panty liner on your light days if you can to reduce TSS...
