does anyone know how much snow equals one inch of rain?

Good question. The answer is roughly 10 to 1. Ten inches of snow is about 1 inch of rain. The only caveat would be snow that does not have a high water content i.e. slushy snow, the best kind for snow men if you know what I mean.

On average 10 inches of snow is an inch of rain, but there are variances in the density of snow. The normal formula is 10:1

Depends how much air is trapped in the snow when you measure it.
