The same one everyone else uses.
Right is what seems to further my own best interest.
Everything else is wrong.

Remember The Code of Hammurabi? Everything in it was about a specific case. Sometimes laws are just too vague and the just punishment will not be dealt. Of course, some rights and wrongs are pretty obvious and are very straightforward in terms of dealing with them. For the ones that can't be dealt with so easily, we need to be more specific in making our laws, taking odd cases into account

1)Will anyone get hurt. Sometimes this is true both ways, meaning you need to weigh how much they'll be hurt (emotionally etc) and the likelihood with each possible decision.
2)Harder to frame. There is something beyond number one, but I can't put my finger on it. Something about integrity, I think. Will I be proud of this decision? Is this the best decision I can be making in this scenario (even if the scenario isn't something to be proud of, the decision can be).

I determine which one is right or wrong based on the macchiavellian quote "the end justifies the means" which means I will do whatever it takes to get what I desire.

The moral and manner issues planted in my head by my parents, grandparents and church in the early 1960s. Of course, some things that were right then, are wrong today--and visa-versa.

Is it illegal? Is it something that I wouldn't want anyone else doing? Is someone going to get hurt, either physically or emotionally? Is my mother going to frown on this one? If any of the above are true, I wouldn't do it. Let your conscience be your guide! And always be true to your heart.

I guess I would ask myself the question,'Would I want it done to me?' The old 'Golden Rule'.
