Interesting articles from Japanese sites?

Question

For my Japanese class we are supposed to find two interesting articles and pose a question for our classmates for them to form an opinion on.
The more replies we get, the more extra credit points! and i'm so close to an A...
So if you've read anything interesting or have site for me to go to, please share! I'm looking as of now, but no great finds.

To avoid a really limited view of learning about Japan, think of some more specific topic, like view of school kids in Japan and hikikomori effects of the school system.
different festivals of Japan, the wonderful public transport system, religion, families, wow there is so much more to learn.
if you cant read Japanese then go the English section of the mainichi.com Japanese news paper and pick some topics from there.

i'm American. i've got continuously enjoyed Japan ever because of the fact i replace into little. I purely love how each and every thing there is so opposite to what i'm conscious of. i'm not an "otaku" as they say. I actual have examine some manga and watched some anime yet i'm not an avid fan.
