How much do you pay for your child's private school?

Question

I was wondering what everyone pays for their children's tuition. I have done the research and found a great Private school for my family. I was just curious of how much everyone else pays around the country.

Please no remarks on public schools or how you think I am making a mistake. This is my choice. Thank you.

I'm from Canada.... and attended private school. I think tuition alone cost around $25,000 (in CDN$), but you have to factor in a bunch of things.

Depending on the nature of your child's private school, they may incur additional expenses for sporting equipment, food (my school had a swipe card system for several eateries so I could spend whenever I wanted.. unfortunately the parentals didn't like this), field trips (or tours... i.e. I went to Montreal for a music class once), books, uniforms (they'll need several), music equipment, art equipment etc etc. Look at the kind of extra curriculars the school offers and you can better approximate the total cost you will be incuring. You'll likely find between a 10-30% increase in tuition cost.

I was lucky enough to get a scholarship for my daughter's tuition so I only pay $105 a month. The regular amount of tuition I would pay is 550 a month.

around $635.00 a month, over the entire 12 months, not just the school terms.

A good private school in a major metropolitan area - i.e. one that segregates your special children from the filthy plebes - is at minimum $15,000 per child per year. I however avoided these skyrocketing costs with a $500 abortion. Oh yeah!

in our city, the price ranges from 500 odd dollars to almost 1500 dollars...its really depends...
