Amendments 13, 14, 15 were huge overhauls to who was eligible to vote (15) and how the government related to states and individuals (14). The abolition of slavery (13) was, in itself, revolutionary.

The changes in the constitutions were quite revolutionary.

Socially, the south stayed very much the same. Crop-lien and sharecropping left the now free blacks in a state of subordination to the white landowners. They were very much in debt and paid most of their wages or produce to the white land and store owners.

Some institutions such as the Freedman's Bureaus attempted to rectify the new inequities, but the KKK also served to reinforce them.

Constitutionally, revolution.
Socially, slight re-arrangement, same hierarchy.
