They tell a story about a male character named "The Patient" who dies at a tragically young age. Since his fondest memory from childhood is of his father taking him to a parade, death comes for him as a "Black Parade."
And NO they are NOT emo.

NO! They are not emo! one song on their second album got them the 'emo' label, but they are not! since u asked for the meaning of the whole song's lyrics, i'll summarize: basically, man dies in hospital, sees the black parade, which is how death comes for him, and joins it. he carries on, even in death, even though he's done bad in his life, he carries on now past what he did before. it's all abt keeping hope.
