The chances are lower around period time, but it is still possible. Your also putting yourself at risk for STD's.

Well if you realllly are sure that you are going through this dont do it on your period its too messy and the smell of blood and yeah no dont do it...you dont want to gross him out of loving you :P anyways hmm YEAH YOU CAN GET PREGGY DURING YOUR PERIOD the chances are slim but they do exist. Second of all you DO NOT WANT TO GET STDS, it may be your first time but you don't 100 percent know it isnt his or maybe he had a ******* from someone who had herpes? Get it? Its not intercourse but it still gets you an STD. So My suggestion to you is wait till your atleast 18 and if you really dont want to then use condoms and go on birthcontrol anyways just as a back up, if you have migrains or headaches of any sort then go with the shot maybe or I.U.D. either or would work. Precum will get you preggy as well so dont play around then put the condom on thinking ur safe, cause you are not. Also, if you really think about it if you think your old enough to have sex, then you are old enough to take responsibilities for your actions. Even if it does mean you are a mom at the age of 17 which would suck because there goes your freedom and fun, while everyones partying your at home carrying for your child and your boyfriend would have left cause he is too young and scared or you both struggle. Anyhow enough of the lecture, if you going to do it do it right and dont do it on your period.

You can get pregnant at any time, whether you are on your period, off your period, using a condom, or not using a condom. The only guarantee of any kind of protection is abstinence.
You are quite young - and not to sound like your mother - because I know I'm not - you really should wait. Is this boy really absolutely worth losing your virginity for?
I am not saying I am perfect, either. I have made my mistakes, and I am divorced, too. I live with my boyfriend (I am 24, realize) and I have sex on a regular basis. I know that high schoolers have sex on their minds a lot at that age. Just be safe.
Also - if you have any doubts about it all - don't do it. Not even if it's "just to please him." That is the worst reason to submit to that at all.
Congrats on a one-year anniversary, though.

It is always possible--especially if you do not know your cycles well. Using a condom properly is your best chance (aside from abstinance or using more than one method of contraception). This means putting it on before anything "starts," unrolling it the correct way, ensuring that there is room in the tip, etc. Even used perfectly, over 12 months 3 out of 100 women will get pregnant. Condoms also help protect against STDs. You don't want one of those, either.
Every woman should read _Taking Charge of Your Fertility_ by Toni Weschler. I never really understood my period and when I could get preganant until I read this book. I linked to her Common Fertility Myths page in the references section.

First of all, it is always *possible* to get pregnant. Every woman's body is different so you just never know when you are ovulating. Always, always use protection.
That being said, the risk on the first day of your your period is very low (kind of yucky for a first time, don't cha think?). Risk is also low the day before, and the day after, too. But with a condom, you should be pretty safe anyway. It isn't the most effective BC method, but pretty good (90% I think was the last stat I heard).

Is it plausible? obviously. No type of birth control is one hundred% efficient inspite of the position you're on your cycle. yet although, it is also plausible that a rogue piece of a jet will crash into your mattress room this evening once you're snoozing. So only because some thing's plausible does no longer mean you should lose sleep over it. First, relying on how lengthy your complete cycle is, even as precisely you ovulate, and how lengthy your era is, you would possibly want to no longer were on your fertile window. Your fertile window starts type of one million week previously you ovulate. In an frequent 28-day cycle, ovulation takes position everywhere from day 10 to day 17 (with the first day of your era being day a million). 2d, inspite of in case you've been on your fertile window, as long as you used the condom good there is little possibility you're pregnant. proper use includes: him having the condom on wisely and preventing once he ejaculated. in case you persevered after that aspect, he must have washed himself with warmth soapy water and then used a clean condom.

Congrats on your anniversary!
You CAN get pregnant at any time; even during your period. Also, sex during your period is harder than when you're not (and I don't mean the obvious mess). You ought to wait until you're not having your period.
In any case, USE A CONDOM.
However, you're both 16 and should be celebrating in a way other than sex. Sixteen is too young to have sex.
I didn't celebrate my first anniversary with my high school sweetheart that way.

Contrary to what you might think..you can get pregnant at any time, even if you are having your period. You can even get pregnant if he pulls out before he ejaculates or if it even gets on your underwear. If life wants to happen, it will happen, regardless. And remember condoms break. Don't have sex if you aren't ready for the responsibility.

First of all... GROSS... for the idea of having sex on your period...gag.
Second, its not too likely that you will get preggers with a condom. unless it breaks, then there is always a possibility, even when you are on birth control.
Use two.
