If it's mainstream stuff you can find cds at walmart for cheaper than you would at a local record store or even a chain record store. Thier selection however is not very good so if it's obscure stuff it's not even worth looking. In that case a lot of stores that sell cds also do trade ins and sell things second hand at a fraction of the price.

See if you can find a local second-hand CD store. Often, you can pick up "gently-used" discs at a very good price. You could also scout out garage sales for used discs that the previous owner has simply gotten tired of. Other than that, check at Wal-Mart, Zellers or other discount department stores. Many public libraries have CDs available on-loan to library customers ... just borrow and tape these.

Department stores usally sell Cds pretty cheap. I know u said no websites but you can get Cds real cheap on ebay.

Go to a music store and see if you can strike up a deal for buying so many in 1 go.
