Yes it is new, but I do not like it. First, if you had any questions on your watchlist you cannot find them because Yahoo replaced My Watchlist with Starred Questions. Second, since those who give stars are not anonymous, people may be more likely to pick their best answer based on who starred their question. Third, it will make it easier for gay bashers to keep track of each other by giving each other stars. Fourth, since their is no option to say a question is not good, the anti-gay people who come to this section for harassment can give each other stars while there is no thumbs down option for others to say the question is bad.

I'm not sure that I like it much. It seems that you can star your own questions, and that is a function that shouldn't happen. I'm not sure what exactly was wrong with the old method of thumbs up and thumbs down.
