I cant concentrate on my work which is why i never finish my work on time. I am also always obsessing that something is not good enough and even when i do a paper I am loathe to proofread it because Im afraid (im not even sure of what). It s a shame because I love to write and I love history but I cant seem to get my stuff together. I can't focus. I'll do a couple of lines in my paper and then i have to get up and pace the room back and forth and then check my e-mail etc.

I think what you're describing happens to a lot of students, it's almost impossible to avoid at some point.
How much are you obesessing though? So much that you can't do your work? That may be a bit of a problem, but it can be overcome. Have you tried rescheduling your time, perhaps getting organized and free of distractions? Maybe working at the campus library will help that. Another good thing to do is to say to yourself, "I'm going to write one page (or whatever) " and then after that reward yourself by listening to music, checking your email, or talking on msn or whatever else you like to do.
Perfection is impossible to obtain, keep up the hardwork and think about changing your habits

It sounds like your need to pace is keeping you from doing your sit-down work. Maybe you could allow yourself to get up, but carry your notes with you, and study while you are walking. I saw a writer who had this problem. He put typewriters in every room of his house because he just couldn't sit still for very long. Sometimes, he had to type while standing. Good luck.

Sounds like you need some help. Go talk to the school counselor and see if he can refer you if needed. You may have a learning disability. Good luck.
