It was a weird play, but if the chargers did not intercept the pass, the game would be over...

As a Patriots fan, I can undoubtedly say that yes, they got lucky. Belichick made some questionable coaching decisions (they needed to run the ball more IMO) but he still managed to out-coach Schottenheimer. It says a lot about the team's character that they never gave up and were able to pull it out, but Brady was playing scared most of the game and he was lucky to get out with a W.

It reminded me a bit of the Snow Bowl against the Raiders five years ago - the Pats should have lost that one too, but they didn't.

The Patriots were lucky to win, but the bottom line is, they did win, and they are now the most talented team left in the postseason. If they do win another Super Bowl it will will be the "weirdest" one yet, but no less sweet.

in a way yes
i am a patriots fan, and the last drive for the winning field goal was no luck, the only luck involved, was when the charger field goal was missed at the end of the game and the following penalty still left the patriots with the ball.

Luck doesnt win you the game with 4 minutes to play and having to come back from 8 points behind

It takes more than luck to score 11 points on the road against the team with the best recoed,. Try smarts. Try guts. Try skills and some bad SD plays

Luck has very much to do with winning, sometimes luck plays as big a role or a bigger role than skill. I didn't watch the game, but knowing the Pats, I don't think it was luck.

What does luck have to do with it? They still won so why does it matter? Saying they got "lucky" isn't going to change the fact that they still won.
