I am having the same problem with my husband! I think it's there way of freaking out and coming to the relization there going to have to grow up... and fast, so they act immature to get it all out. I am really hoping it goes away after delivery! I don't want two kids yet! :)

Because he's frightened by the responsibility of being a father. He may also be insecure about your feelings for him; during pregnancy, a woman's hormones and feelings are on overdrive. Things and behaviors that you normally don't exhibit are in the forefront, and most men don't know how to handle that. As the due date approaches, he may also have heard the horror stories among men about: 1. Suddenly not being important to the wife, 2. The end of sex as he knows it (the wife is too tired and too stressed to want it), 3. The realization that HIS childhood is over, and 4. The realization that he is getting older, and facing his own mortality. Talk to him; get counseling if you have to. Hopefully in time, he'll "grow up", and slowly fall into the pattern of being a husband and father. Oh, and a little postscript: Men never TRULY grow up. They just get older, with more expensive toys! Good luck and God bless.

I think your husband is acting the way he does is because pretty soon he will be speaking to his own child soon to come. That is normal. He is actually practicing on how to relate to the baby to come. I think that it is a cute thing to not even forget for the happiness that is coming out of him. He is showing his true joyful emotions, and you should be thankful that he is, instead of not showing anything at all.

If I were you, I would play along with him because pretty soon, you too, will be doing the same thing! (smile)

He is probably excited and nervous about the new arrival. Plus, you have been getting all the attention for the last 9 months. He realizes that once the baby comes, everyone will pay more attention to the baby. Try talking with him to see what he is feeling.

God only knows. Are there new baby toys in the house that are promoting this juvenile behaviour? Tell him to grow up because you do not need to change diapers for two, you need an extra pair of ADULT hands, and if he does not behave like the mature father to be that he is, send him to the corner for time out.

Husbands are afraid they will not get much attention after the baby comes. Just let your big baby know that you love him to.
