I am 17 weeks pregnant tomorrow and have a nasty cold. I had a sore throat yesterday, thats gone today but now I am stuffed, fevery and have that horrible scratchy dry throat that nothing seems to help. I have been drinking decaf hot tea with honey, but its not really helping, do you guys have any home remedy type things that help soothe a sore scratchy throat with out the use of medications?

Sorry about your cold! I just went through one, and I know they can be miserable. Here are some things that helped me:

-Gargle with warm salt water
-Suck on popsicles when you can so the cold ice can help reduce swelling
-Humidify the air, dry air is hard on irritated throats and nasal passages
-Suck on lemon drops

I hope you feel better soon!

Hey you must take care. Don't take any pills unless you have to or unless the doctor advices you to. Try out some home remedies. Sore throat is usually due to a viral infection . Gargling with warm salty water or mouthwash can reduce the pain and inconvenience. More details and home remedies available at http://ailments.in/sorethroat.html

Maybe try Pedialyte Popsicles. After I had -post-throwing-up sore throat, they really helped sooth it.
