the contestants judge soley on their singing ability and not the stories the producers put out there for some of the contestants...for instance this year we already have a crack baby and a guy from the military and last year we had Kellie Pickler who was abandoned by her Mom and her Dad was in and out of prison (by the way her album rocks}
By putting these stories out there some people will vote for them simply because they had a tough start in life...Maybe I'm just being a hard ***, I am going thru chemo and radiation and usually don't feel worth a crap..lol but I would hate for this show to start being more about good drama than the great talent these young people have...so what do you think?
One last thing...could someone please tell me what this star thing is on here now...I'd ask a seperate question but they are here to take me to radiation so if you know plz shed some light on it for me...Thanks people

I agree with you. I think we have enough shows on tv about people who have lived rough lives, take for instance Extreme Home Make-Over. You're not being a hard*** by expecting a show about vocal talent to actually judge on the contestants' vocal talent.
People can mark questions with stars to show interest in the question. I think it's kind of like rating hotels or restraunts.

Getting the audience to identify with the contestant is just good business. If they like the contestant they may listen to that contestants singing even after the contest is over. Of course, you should know by now that they do those clips to let you know that the contestant is moving on and should be in the final 12. If they waste the time and energy to go to your home you are definitely going further than others.

well id like to see them not spend 3 minutes on some idiot who doesnt even know the words to the song let alone can't sing.
I would like them to focus more on the middle of the road people they cant decide on. I mean tht one girl that sang jewels song, jewel when asked her opinion was like I cant talk right now,lol
PEOPLE dont give your friends or family members false hope, it does nothing good
