When I was single, I would get a bunch of my friends and take them out for dinner, just to let them know I love them and how much I appreciate their friendship. And I would get them silly cartoon candy Valentines, too, just for laughs.

well it depends on the persons personality and past. if they were in love at a point and were dumped a little while before v-day. they won't really celebrate the holiday but despise it. but if ur a generally happy person they might go see a movie with other single friends to celebrate and/or they might give gifts to there friends...don't forget that the holiday is for the people you love not only for boyfriends and girlfriends........well i hope this was a good enough answer.......hope u have a happy valentines day.....whether single or not.

Yes and No. Some do others dont, because it can be looked at in a positive way or a negative way.
Example: your single you have the chance to tell the one you've been crushing on that you like he/she in a cute way.
OR
your single and you feel depressed about yourself not having a girlfriend/boyfriend so you mope around feeling sorry for yourself.

ah the dreaded hallmark holiday created for capitalistic reasons to exploit couples and bludgeon singles (Single's Awareness Day). When I was single my girlfriends and I would get each other a card, if it was a friday or saturday we'd go out for drinks or something and toast our bachelorette status. On V-day weeknights we'd meet for ice cream or something. The best thing to do if you are a romantic is not to be alone, or go out alone it will only serve to remind you of your aloneness. Be with friends and hang out no reason it shouldn't be just like any other day. Live it up...eat, drink, and be merry!

When I was younger I used to send anonymous valentines to all the fellas I had crushes on. It was pretty fun, sometimes they'd be guys around my office so I could see their reaction, sometimes I'd also send flowers.

I don't celebrate valentines at all anymore...it's a big ZERO.
But maybe this year...there is this guy I like that I just ran into the other day...maybe I'll send him and anonymous valentine! Thanks for the inspiration!

I celebrate Valentine's Day continually, unmarried or connected. only get which contain some pals and bypass out or do some thing exciting, like a spa evening or a movie evening. you do not favor to be with someone to smash your self stupid.

People give Valentine cards and/or gifts to their friends, family, even pets. Why restrict it to your bf/gf when you don't have one? Just don't mope at home. Go out with other single friends and have fun. You'd be surprised how many married or attached friends envy the freedom you have. Happy Valentine's Day!

I have never had a serious boyfriend. I give cards--either homemade or store-bought--to my family members, and occasionally to my friends. There is more to love than just romance.

I wrote an Amazon.com essay about being single on Valentine's Day:

So you'd like to... Enjoy Valentine's Day in spite of yourself.

single people sometimes, would celebrate the day with all their friends who are also single. so a singles night out or something. go out for dinner together, go to a bar/club, or just hang out at someone's place, as a big group. just have fun, spending the evening with people they love being with.
