i made a 3min video on my pc. (windows movie maker) i saved the video to my desktop. i want to send this video by email to someone with a mac. if i need to change the format of the video so they can see it on a mac how do i do that? and what is the easiest way to send it by email? (meaning is there a way i can make the file smaller for faster upload and download) thanks

Actually, Flip4Mac is only important if your friend wants to view a Windows Media Player file in his QuickTime Player or play web-based Windows Media Player files in a web browser on a Mac. QuickTime 6.5 or later and Mac OS 10.3.9 or later are needed on the Mac.

Any Mac can play Windows Media Player files from the hard drive by using the same (but Mac version) program as Windows computers – Windows Media Player. Tell your friend to download and install Windows Media Player for Mac. That will do it.

Ideally, you would convert the file to Quicktime format and send it to your Mac friend.

However, Macs are able to open WMV files (Windows Media Video, which is what Windows Movie Maker produces) with the installation of a free CoDec called "Flip4Mac".
