My husband and I are having a baby around the beginning of April. My husband's grandfather, Isadore, passed away last month, and we would like to name the baby to honor him, but we don't like the name Isadore itself. Does anyone have ideas for baby names to honor someone named Isadore (or Hebrew name Israel)? We don't know our baby's gender, so names for boys or girls would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Isabella Dorothy for a girl

Isreal, Jacob, Isaac Dorian for a boy

I hope this helps, that is a tough name to try to change. Anyway, I tried to combine a first and middle name that would be sort of like Isadore when put together. good luck!

Why don't you choose a fist name that you really love and use Isadore as a middle name, I think it would make a great middle name and you would be honoring his memory

Try simply changing it to Isabel for her first name so it sounds more feminine or make Isadore her middle name.

Congrats on the new baby. I am sure your Grand FIL would be honored that you named your child after him...

How about:
Dorian
Isaiah
Isaac
Isa or Eesa

You could use the middle name Dorian so Isaiah Dorian or Eesa Dorian. Very cute. :)

Or for girls Isabella is the obvious choice. You could do:
Isabel Dora
Isabella Dori

or Eleanor, same or ending sound, with nickname Elli. Also Aurora is a similar sound.

Good Luck! SD
