for lime green, you will want to have your base green color ... yellow + blue, then for lime green, you will want to add more yellow . adding white will just make the green paler

i would make my 'green base' from yellow and blue
then
i would add more yellow than white
until i get lime green
adding just white won't be lime green

It has been a while since I painted but I think you just need extra yellow. I don't remember adding white at all.

no for more easier procedure, try green and add little white. I tried it and put a tiny bit of yellow then, BAM!! you got:lime green

depends on what you're mixing (watercolors,oils,acrylics,etc.)
White usually "waters down" the color so try adding more yellow.
