The Americans knew the land so they had an upper hand there and they knew how to get around better. Also they had determination because they were defending their homeland and families. I'm not sure about this last one but i think it is that the British had to send supplies across sea and we cut some of them off and it took time to get there.

1. The losses experienced on the British side also helped to bolster the colonists confidence. So it came to be that the Battle of Bunker Hill would be the foundation that the colonists would look back to for the many battles that occurred during the American Revolution. The first being that the British suffered heavy losses and would no longer convinced of a victory when they went to battle the colonists. in a sense the british gave up
2. Throughout the war, the British were able to use their naval superiority to capture and occupy coastal cities, but control of the countryside (where 90% of the population lived) largely eluded them, plus the french were helping the americans (battle of new orleans)
3. americans had more people

1. The Colonists were determined to win. After all, this was their freedom we are talking about. The British just thought of them as selfish upstarts and seriously underestimated their capabilities.
2. They knew the terrain and were able to use that to their advantage. The colonists knew how to use their surroundings for cover instead of standing upright in a cluster in the middle of a meadow like you see all of the idiots do in the old movies. The British were trained to fight on a different landscape than what the colonies consisted of.
3. The colonists were not considered to have much in the way of weapons. However, many of the people at that time knew how to use weapons in order to hunt and provide food for their families. Again, they were seriously underestimated.
4. I believe Britain may have been fighting another war at the time and just didn't have the people or supplies to spare to deal with the Revolution. They were more concerned with taking care of the other threat(s). That and Britain was more concerned with naval power than land battles. If you really think about it, most if not all of the war was fought on land. I don't believe I have ever heard of a battle on the sea during the Revolution.

The British forces were used to the normal line up and march tactics. Basically, two forces line up, march towards each other firing, until one side is killed off or retreats. That's how the war originally started, and the Americans were losing. The Americans soon changed tactics, going for hit and fade which did not give the British troops time to received to orders to do their regular fighting pattern. In addition, sharpshooters on the American side began to target the officers of the British army (the guys on horses yelling at the rank and file), and since the British troops were so accustomed to listening to orders, that the loss of their officer would mean chaos.
Help was given to the Revolutionaries by France, who sent military aid in the form of supplies, and eventually ships and troops (which helped greatly to win the Battle of Yorktown).
That's as much as I've got for you.

Here is the additional information you asked for Sanman...
2x+3+3x=x+11
5x+3 = x +11
5x-x = 11-3
4x = 8
x = 8/4
x = 2
x+3+2x=x+5
3x+3 = x+5
3x-x = 5-3
2x = 2
x = 2/2
x = 1

The British could only bring so many men and supplies at one time. The Americans were defending their own land, knew it better, where to hide and retreat. I believe they employed the same tactics as people defending their land today. Guerrilla
warfare. Hit and run. Wear them down. Minute men called up at a
moment's notice. The Americans had their own army and civilians co-operating and hitting at every chance.

Firstly, we let you win. Secondly, it wasn't as if we could just call in an extra 200,000 reserves overnight from across the Atlantic, and thirdly our King at the time was mental.
