Every evening, I get really nauseous and tired, but I'm still hungry for dinner and I can't think of anything to eat that doesn't sound disgusting. Any kind of meat sounds gross, and usually cheese and vegetables too. The only things I could think of that don't gross me out are plain rice and noodles.
What were you able to eat while you were nauseous and hungry at the same time?

I had evening sickness too. No vomiting, but nausea. I could usually eat some fruit cocktail, Regular lay's chips were always good to me on really bad days. Also, if it wasnt too terrible that day I could have some yogurt, or glass of milk, or a frozen yogurt bar. Hope it helps! The best thing to do is experiment(with small portions) and try a lot of different things until u find something that works for you. Good luck!

All I could eat was fruit, and only plain fruit like apples, pears and bananas. No berries, no pineapple, etc.

You don't gain weight eating fruit (actually I lost 30lbs in the first 3 months) but at least it is full of vitamins.

So try some really bland fruit *lol*

Meat aversions are very common, however protein is very important. Once you have eaten your plain rice wait about 15 min, if your stomach seems ok try to eat some other foods rich in protein like beans(dried are best, but even fresh peas are good), lentils, yogurt or cheese. Also try other grains cooked plain they are higher in protein. Or egg noodles.

I've attached a list of high protein foods (excluding meat).

I kind of lived off pretzels and apples for about a week there. I ate, but nothing stayed down, and eggs in the morning.....I ran before I could smell them! Try some tofu (low fat, high protein, and you can flavor it with just about anything and then it tastes like that!) and maybe a salad with NO dressing, or just lemon juice. Your body is going haywire right now. Looking through cookbooks might help, if you spot a food that doesn't make your brain go "EEEEEEEUCK!!" then you should buy it! Don't worry, it won't last forever.

Order some preggy pops. They are lollipops that help and you can also wear motion sickness arm bands. They go around your wrist. They do nopt work on everyone but does not hurt to try. How about some applesauce with your rice? or mash a banana blend in with applesauce and make a popsicle. Any fruit juice to make a pop would be good at least you can get liquids. many things can be pureed and disguised in a popsicle.

I know exactly what you mean, and it would vary from day to day what I was able to eat. The most common things I could keep down were some fruits, especially fresh crispy apples and fresh citrus fruits, some raw, not too flavorful veggies like carrots, baked or mashed potatoes with not too much added grease, sometimes unsalted almonds or pecans, and dry cheerios.

Hang in there!

Cold smoothies made with frozen fruit and yogurt.

On a side note: I think it's really irresponsible of the poster who quoted out of the book to tell women she lost 30lbs in the first trimester. We don't know her situation, can imagine she may have been very overweight to begin with, but without her having a disclaimer it sends a bad, irresponsible message.

saltines, but in moderation. You don't want your blood pressure getting high because of the salt. Stay away from processed meat- (deli ham, honeybaked ham, hotdogs, bologna, etc.) they can cause stillborn births. The nitrates.
Also, Stay away from diet drinks. Mixing the two causes a chemical reaction tht can cause all sorts cancers and tumors.
