How do you know if you might have a slight case of frostbite? I work outside in the wind and sub-zero temps all the time and while most of the time my ears are covered, for the last few days my ear (not an ear infection) has been hurting and feels a little swollen. Could it be frostbite or is it more likely to be something else?

It's not really inside my ear but my lobe doesn't hurt. I don't think there are any visible signs though . . .

Frostbite happens whilst temperatures attain close to freezing or under. and that i think of whilst the dew element is with regard to the comparable temperature. Frost is whilst the dew freezes on the vegetation leaves. I think of the chilly damages the plant using fact the water in it freezes and freezes the leaves yet i'm not sure. After a plant is frostbite it is going to look distinctive in that the leaves turn an exceedingly dark green each and every so often get spotty and characteristic very just about a waxy moist seem to them finding on how undesirable they have been given it. there would no longer be any strategies after the reality. beforehand hand you could placed newspapers on them or blankets. in no way plastic. I usually rake various my leaves into my flower beds and if there is going to be a frost i will conceal my vegetation with them. I incredibly have a lilac bush that became into frost bit and the leaves after approximately 3 days became black have been given crispy and fell off. It possibly won't bloom very stable this 365 days if in any respect. maximum suitable wager if there's a frost warning get out and canopy each and every thing up. The plant will come decrease back in some weeks whilst it gets warmer yet usually does not look as stable because it always does. i wish that enables i'm no specialist.

I worked as a flagger years ago, I was out in the cold temp's one day flagging without a break. I had these same symptoms. I went to the doctor 2 days later and he said it was frostbite. You need to get in to see a doctor as soon as possible because this is not a issue that one can put off without losing that ear.

You may also have an inner ear growth starting, it's not infected but could be a growth. I had one of those and had to have surgery to remove it.
