I think you are asking for views and thoughts about the Atomic Scientists moving the minute hand of the "Doomsday Clock" on January 17, 2007...the first such change to the Clock since February 2002.
The major new step reflects growing concerns about a "Second Nuclear Age" marked by grave threats, including: nuclear ambitions in Iran and North Korea, unsecured nuclear materials in Russia and elsewhere, the continuing "launch-ready" status of 2,000 of the 25,000 nuclear weapons held by the U.S. and Russia, escalating terrorism, and new pressure from climate change for expanded civilian nuclear power that could increase proliferation risks.
The Doomsday clock alarm us how close we are to a nuclear war and no necessary the end of the world as some might think or want others to believe.I think that nobody can time the day when the world will come to an end. I believe it will just happen and we have to be ready right now or else.
Meanwhile, we have to think of the future world generations, our children and there children. These new world generations are the ones we have to pass the triggers for the nukes that we buildup so that they can play "world war" like if it's a computer game. This is what is frighting.
Who knows what is going to happen. Is it going to be the end of the world or is it going to have allot more suffering and destruction?
Hope this help good luck

It's an opportunity for some people to get media exposure. It's a gimmick, plain and simple. It is not based on anything that can be measured , therefore, it is pure fluff. Just another way for people to advance their agenda.

don't become like the those guys who say that the end is near. The Bible says that no one will know the day when it will happen. Don't worry about the end of the world, just relax.

I don't know I just read the story where they moved it up 2 minutes today. To me it is almost telling the world that when it hits midnight to go ahead and bomb us. Because we expect it so go ahead and do it.

It's just the opinions of those scientists. I guess, seeing as they research the risks to our civilisation more than I ever will, their opinion is more important & accurate as to our threat to existence.
