Why is the naked body looked on with shame now days?

Look at painting of the birth of Venus it is suppose to be beautiful, but today we should be think seeing a naked body shamful.

i agree. why the fascism about nudity? It's because when people look at the attractive people, the not-so-socially-attractive people say that it's objectification and offensive, since nobody's looking at them. shame. if nudity were more accepted, everyone wouldn't be obese.

Because of religious dictates. In some religions the goods are not for show because they are property. In others, the goods should stay covered because it's immoral. In some it's illeagal and some actually would argue that it became shameful once the masses realized money could be made off of revealing it. There are also those who claim the issue boils down to temptation. Although I believe if it were not viewed as immoral and nudity was common practice where climate permits the temptation disappears. I don't find it shameful personally. The human body is an amazing thing of beauty.
