I was on Anafranil for depression for a few months, They helped a lot in the beginning, but after a while I started to notice that they didn't help as much, and the side effects were ridiculous. I was always so tired and out of energy. My psychiatrist gave me pills to help me stay awake but those didn't help either. I decided to ween myself off of all of the pills, because I didn't like being dependent on pills and also because I hated being tired all of the time, and now its about 6 weeks later and I still am so tired. At first I thought maybe it was withdrawal, but it is too long after to still be considered withdrawal. Without being on the pills, I am a lot less depressed than I was BEFORE i started taking pills at all, but I still notice that I need them, but I am trying to fight it. Iwas thinking maybe I am tired because there is still depression there.I went to my doctor to get a blood test, he said it was perfect, no anemia or anything. Anyone have any ideas?

Is your life just boring you to sleep? I got depressed because I cut out everything in my life that was fun, because I was so busy with 'important' stuff. Keep a balance and get some fun back in your life. Take care of yourself by eating nutritious food and get plenty of rest. I hope you feel better soon, best wishes.

Depression makes you tired it is part of the disease..
Try other medication and don't give up..
I am here with you I have it really bad..
The worst thing is to give up.. Try surrounding yourself with people who are up beat and happy as much as you can...
It can be overwhelming at first but let yourself have fun....

Trust me when i took myself off the meds i felt i had it all undercontrol to and now i am spirialing down again.. Try new things...

The depression workbook is suposed to be really good to have..

GOOD LUCK

Have you had your thyroid checked?

Extreme tiredness is a symptom of thyroid trouble. Have yourself checked by a doctor.
