just to let you all know...i am deliberately vague and broad with my question...because seeing how people interpret the question is to me part of the answer...;0)

Ishfaq A...i read everything you said with great interest...i agree that we do not see much in its raw state of being...i am very much though for free perception and feeling as much as speech or anything else...i acknowledge anyones faith as being valid for them....this is part of how their own perception works...an harm none...do what ye will...if you believe in Santa Claus..he exists to you...i am using santa claus as a glib example here so as not to offend anybody...it doesnt matter who it is...they are part of your perception of the universe and its workings....that is my point...so i live and let live there...;0)

Everything and everyone is an alternate perception of reality. What I feel about something is always different to the next man to me. Reality is only relative to your own perception and your own perception changes dependant on mood. To sum up the only reality that exists is the one that happens in the immediate present, moment by moment, as after each moment your perception can and often does change.

An alternate perception other then relatiy as we know it? That doesn't quite make sense, dear. Alternate perception is everywhere in every person. It's what defines one person from another, the way they see things which is an effect of their alternate perception of things. Did you perhaps mean what other alternatre realities? That is a very weird question that cause a very broad choice of answers. There are millions of other alternate realities that exist and are made up my other people in even their own mind.... your question confuses me...

I already have an alternative perception of reality to most.
It revolves around a fundamental belief that there is
a parallel existence of a spirit world/universe/kingdom
It is just as real as the reality in which we live,
if not more so as our physical beings are transient.
this alternative existence is eternal and yet both affect each other.

usually when u describe someone as having an alternative perception of reality it means u think they are telling porky pies!!LOL!!

Perception of reality is perception through sense organs. It may or maynot be correct.Sun rises in the East is reality for all of us.In fact Sun never rises ior sets,it is the movement or Earth that gives us a different reality. We never feel Earth as moving but in reality it moves! So perception of absolute reality is a myth.

Dialogue and visionary images in the mind when fully conscious.

Visionary images or meditation images, dreams etc.

Some could liken to a mental health condition although we each only have to think of a lemon and we are creating a visionary image that looks very real.

Likewise, visionary images during waking, in meditation and in dreams can seem very real, and often can be perceived and even confused with actual reality that we assume is this one.

I know i see the world in ways uncommon to those around me.......an angle that is hard to describe with words.
I look at things in terms of vision beyond the veil.
The under laying sense would be of purity, and love.
Things in this world sparkle to me or are dull.

I perceive the world in a spiritual-energy sense.
I love nature, I love the infinite.
I feel deeply.

I think this is an alternate perception. I live this opinion...
it feels like crystallized light.....like sweetness.....like subtle neon rainbows.....like music....like no I am sober...like_______?

You are right, our physical senses are not capable of perceiving reality, we always need an alternate perception.
So we always need a translator/medium to perceive reality. The medium or arbitrator between us and reality that acts as a bridge, presents reality to us, is called aesthetics. The outer sense able cover of reality, that translates reality by the language of signs and symbols to our available sense.
Reality is of host and structural nature always hidden under number of covers of aesthetics. Anything more closer to reality has more numbers of covers around it. That,s why women needs to cover their body more than men and we all cover our genital organs as being closer to reality with reference to other organs of us.
Always structural beams and slabs we try to cover by plastering, painting and cladding's.
If a baker in a bakery pick a cake and put on your hands without packing in a box and putting it in a shopper bag, how you will feel.

Reality is the language of our soul and it is a stranger to our body and bodily senses. So we always perceive it in bits and pieces, by combining the signs and symbols transmitting out of it, the aesthetics. Even then we remain unaware of Major part of it.

This is the reason we cannot perceive Allah Almighty, but we can feel His presence by His creations, pointing towards a Unique Almighty and Ultimate Creator of everything.
But a strong immagination can immagin Allah Almighty, that's why Muslims don't need any idol or image of Him to put in front of them while worshiping Allah Almighty ( as oposite to Hindus way of worshiping their God, they make so many images and put in front of them as alternate perception of reality).

Here's the answer: there is no such thing as reality. All you see around you are figments of your imagination. All you perceive are projections of your mind onto the external world. This is why we all see things differently and argue sometimes.

your perception of reality is very likely different from my perception of reality...
then there is string theory, inwhich a "particle" is both in existence and out of existence as matter, simultaneously...and in existence in several dimentions also...being matter and energy and non-matter...all of them and non of them at the same time.
this is as close as i can come to understanding the question, and giving an answer.

In my experience...an alternative perception of reality is a perception that only I understand and only I am frustrated by when no one else agrees with it.

The only alternative to this is some ridiculous notion that you have come up with...which is clearly preposterous!

There is no alternative...VOTE BORIS!!!!
