Back in December, my parents bought me 3 Levi's 501 jeans. They were both PRESHRUNK. Each of the 3 jeans came from different countries. Why? I thought all Levi's jeans were made in the USA. The first one came from Egypt, the second from Mexico, and the third from Columbia.

Ok, it's January now. I've been wearing the jeans since Christmas Day 2006. After like 3 washings, the jeans have shrunk a lot. The only one out of the 3 jeans that fit me now is the one from Egypt. wtf?!

The ones from mexico are skin tight now. I can't even wear underwear with them. I can't even put my hands in the pockets anymore because they don't fit. The one from Columbia is a little tight. The one from Egypt fits just right. The only one that shrunk were the light colored jeans. The dark one stayed loose fit.

What is going on with Levi's jeans. I've worn 505s in the past and experienced the same problems. The jeans are PRESHRUNK! That means they shouldn't shrink. Someone should write to the company.

Do you follow the washing instructions inside the jeans?
It is nice to know that you are a good customer of the company.
The construction of your pair of jeans were highly technologically engineered using digitize patterns.
I am unbelievably amazed at your experience. I wear all styles of Levi's jeans and I do not experience what you are experiencing. I have been using only Levi's jeans for the last thirty years. I have a dozen pairs as of this writing.
The manufacturing facilities of Levi Strauss & Co. were moved to the third world countries because of the prohibitive labor costs to produce the Jeans here in the USA partly due to the competitors that were outsourcing the production of their jeans. There are no more manufacturing facilities here in the USA for that matter. You should still purchase a size larger than your actual size to allow shrinkage even if it says pre-shrunk. Most probably, you are washing your jeans with very hot water and drying them also at a very high temperature. Try washing your jeans inside-out. If you have a problem, the company will exchange your jeans with new ones. Write Levi Strauss & Co. at 1155 Battery Street, San Francisco, California 94111 if the store where you purchased your jeans would not entertain your problem. However, shrinkage is not covered, I presume. Read the Permanent Care Label. Only sewing defects are guaranteed.
