I had my ultrasound last week and today was my dr.'s appt. the dr said as of right now my placenta was covering my cervix and probably have to have a c-section. he said there is a chance that as my uterus grows it might strtch the placenta with it and move it out of the way. Has anyone had this happen to them ?? what was the outcome?? did you have to have a c-section or did your placenta move?? Any helpful tips or experiences would help. Thanks

Yes. Well I didn't by my cousin did, and she was living with us at the time of her pregnancy. She was about 18 weeks when they discovered it. And they told her that she would probably have to have a c-section. But when they checked her at 29 weeks the placenta had moved to the side of her cervix, so she could have had a natural delivery. But she ended up having to have a emergency c-section anyway.

My mum did with my brother (5 year ago) The placenta did not move and she bleed alot (think my mum had a bad one) She had a c section and both my mum and brother where fine.

I dont want to scare you, but soemtimes its good to hear the worst experience as well.

I do no off people where it moved up.

The whole of my family going back generations had the same situation with boys, so i may be back asking your advise one day.

Good Luck

i had it with my first child and have one now with my second. i only had a partial previa, which only covered about half my cervix with my first child. as i got bigger it moved and i had a normal delivery. the only thing that i had to look out for was i started bleeding because any type of disruption to those membranes can cause bleeding. my hubby and i could have sex for a while because of it. you should be fine. they will give you plenty more sonograms before you deliver.
