I saw the video clips on youtube.. and what shilpa has experienced in the uk big brother is nothing new to what thousands of indians abroad in UK, US, and Australia experience every day. Behind the false smiles, and all the sugar coated political correctness.. there is a inherent feeling of superiorty for most westerners over indians..

I have been living in sydney for almost 6 years now... and i have experienced this the hard way...

firstly.. westerners complain that indians dont fit in well ... And their definition of fitting in is to drink beer and eat beef... Not to say anything is wrong with drinking beer and eatting beef... Its just that.. all these countries claim to be multicultural.. but multiculturalism works both ways...not just indians becoming australian or american or whateva ..... I am indian i cant become australian.. just because i live in australia.. dont expect me to be like one. I mean , its like their way is the only way and every other culture is made up of narrow minded rules. Its stupid to think like that.. every culture has its pros and cons...

Although i dont expect this behaviour to change, everytime i try to speak to them about it from my heart (hoping people understand my point of view)... they keep saying .. "if you dont like australia.. go back to your country!".

I dont know what is racism and what is not, for me its just a label. But in reality the truth is I am humiliated and degraded every day for not fitting in.... So I just hope this shilpa shetty controversy raises more awareness about this issue to all those young indians who are crazy about going abroad. I think people should think twice...

I appeal to westeners to create some empathy towards other cultures. See urself from there shoes... You will see what we mean.

This whole shilpa thing, is better termed as a empathy issue as opposed to racism. I hope it gets its due awareness.. instead of covering it up based on uk-india foreign relations. Silence will only prolong more severe consequences.

I've been following the bb show, and all i can say is that I think that Shilpa is not a racial target. However i believe the problem is jealousy between the girls on bb, the problem is Jo Jade and Danielle are very jealous of shilpa's beauty and strong calm personality it makes them feel insecure, and react in a bitchy manner, excluding Shilpa from their girly chats and picking at her at any giving opportunity.

i felt very bad about shilpa how those 4 ppl treated her terribly..its really disgusting..immuture way to behave..but its not their fault..they have not been taught bu their parents in home how to behave in a social environment,in my opinion malicious and deliberate bullying stemming from their lack of class, illiterate and insecurity..their attitude and behaviour towards shilpa stems from pure jealousy..its realli stupid of them to behave like this

I was in America and walking down the street when an older Caucasian gentleman did a namaste ( Folded hands and bent knees to me). I thought he was paying respect to me in the Indian customary way. Out of respect to his age I returned the namaste (without bended knees). It is then his entourage started laughing as if he had cracked a great joke. I realised that day what racism was all about. I just walked away.....what does one say to people who judge people by the colour of their skin....that they deserve to have such a deathly pallor to live with all their lives ?

I think its only a show and we are getting very much attracted to it, if shilpa is facing difficulty she should withdraw from there. why she is there in that show by losing her dignity?

no i'm not watching it as channel4 is unavailable in india.but i think shilpa should not come back like a coward but she should firmly (also bravely) handle those stupid celebs properly & should come back with a victory as it is prestige of our indian culture & of course all indians & last but not d least thanks to those who r supporting her in house of big brother on behalf of all indians.
