This is sucha difficult question. I think he is the greatest actor inm the world, and gorgeous at that. His own idol is Marlon Brando, and he is fabulous also. His best role i would say is godfather and/or once upon a time in america. He was also fabulous in goodfellas. I like him doing the comedy's but he plays a better gangster! I just love him i think he's the greatest!

If by "Robert De Niro's finest" you mean the ones in which he does his best acting: Raging Bull, followed by Taxi Driver, Bang The Drum Slowly and Mean Streets. He is also a good comic actor, and particularly like his work in Brazil and Wag The Dog.
The best movie in which he acted was probably The Godfather, Part II.

Taxi Driver. I was a real life yellow cabbie once or twice and you get "like that",seeing the world stripped bare and skulking around anonymously for hours on end at night, freelance looking to put things straight and save some victims. Meeting the worlds oddbods,and being one yourself while gradually curling up at the edges. That movie part was excellently played by DeNiro and they did their homework when writing and directing it. I reckon that was his best anyway?
