Watts is a unit that measures how many joules of energy are used every second. So, that question really has no meaning.

As for how many joules per hour - measure the wattage on your laptop and multiply it by 3600s.

About the same as a 3-way lite bulb: 50/100/150 watts depending on how much work the laptop is doing.
