Angel isn't one of my favorite names. It can be a cute nickname for Evangeline, but Evangeline isn't one of my top picks either.

How about something like:
Faith or Grace or Hope
Celeste means heavenly
Gabrielle means Godly
Olivia means Peace

Good Luck! SD

Angel is an adorable name for a little girl. The problem with it is that: say you give birth to her tomorrow. On January 18, 2020, she will be a teenager with a cute name for a little girl. On January 18, 2025, she will become an adult with a cute name for a little girl. On January 18, 3037, she will be a 30 year old with a cute name for a little girl. Get the idea?

If you want to call her Angel, go with a longer form like Angela, Angelica, Angelia, Angelina, etc.

I really like this name a lot. Well, I did. And then I decided that it sounded like a drag queen's name, and now I don't like it. Sure it works for a man dressed as a woman, but for a little girl, no. If you like it enough, I think you should go with something longer like Anglica or Angelina, or even Evangeline. These names all have the same meaning as Angel, but doesn't sound so hooker/drag queenish. Do you know what I mean? Also, like others have said, remember that her name will still be Angel when she's an adult. Does it sound like an adult name? I think it sounds too sweet. That's my opinion, but it's not my daughter.

This is only my opinion. If you have had a hard time conceiving then sure this baby will be considered your angel. Otherwise some people may think you are very religious to name your baby Angel. Angel is big among Hispanics. I have worked around children for 18 years. Maybe use it as a middle name. Good luck!

I like names with the word angel in them, but not really Angel as a name by itself.

Consider:

Angeline
Angelina
Angélie
Angelia
Angelique
Angelica
Angelisa
Angelita
Angelicia

Angel seems like a nick name to me, more then a formal first name. I have an in law, whos name is Angela, but she goes by Angel to friends and family and Angela at work ect....maybe try something like that. Good luck!

I have only heard it on boys. I personally don't like it for a name. Like the other said give her another name and use Angel as the nickname.
