I watched it years ago.Its about a man that comes to earth and has special powers..I women named Genny feel in love with him..But he only had so long to stay on earth before having to leave.He got himself in all sorts of trouble in the beginning and she was trying to guide him the right way.I thought it was The Star Man..But its not..What was the correct name of this movie? I remember him being at a Restuarant goin to the bathroom and seeing words in red written on a wall.He knew nothing about earth and had to learn before his time was up to leave.

That really sounds like Star Man with Jeff Bridges from the mid '80s. The best part of that movie is when he learns to say "Up Yours" and gives everyone the finger.

Starman - Another funny part, he learns to drive, speeds through a yellow light. The girl freaks out and asks what he is doing. "Red Light - Stop, Green Light- Go, Yellow - Go very fast."
