I think I am falling in love with my Latin teacher. He is 50 and I am 16. He tells me that I am very mature for my age and that we have a connection. Everyone tells me that it is just a phase and I should try to forget about my feeling. He's married and I try to fight it, but I can not seem to get over him. He is smart, funny, and very nice. I talk to him a lot after school and sometimes find myself thinking of things to ask him, just to spend a few minutes alone with him. I am even having trouble paying attention in his class and my grade is slipping.

Keep faaar away from this guy. You could (however unintentionally) ruin his career and you could have big problems with the school administration as well.

Abby, This is really normal. The reason you are attracted to him is the maturity. The boys you go to school with are all so immature and you long to be with someone a little more adult. I'm sure that you realize that this is a crush and as soon as you advance to the next grade you will slowly cool down and eventually put him in your memory. When I was your age, I was in love with my History teacher. He was just always so proud of me and my grades and he too thought I was very mature for my age. I will never forget him. I did my very best in school so he would notice me and comment on how good I was doing. There are really few teachers like that so consider yourself blessed. Trust me when I say that next year it won't seem so important.

It's ok to have those feelings, but you should never act on them. You are not a bad person for having a crush on an older man, so don't let anyone tell you that. Just please understand what will happen to you and your teacher if you try to act on your feelings. You will regret for the rest of your life. It is a crush, and you will get over it. Please don't ever try anything with that man, it's just going to end up being a nightmare. You can ruin both of your lives.

Trouble-----that is all will come of it. Stop looking at him like that, if you want your grades to improve. He is old enough to be your father and maybe even your grandfather. Maybe you should see him as a father figure instead of a crush.

For a start, a guy can be anything! Some are born lucky with the girls, some come halfway lucky, and others seem to lose out completely. You could be trying too hard and maybe your desperateness is beginning to show. This can really put the girls off, as they sense your desperate vibes. Do you get to meet many girls in your daily life? This can sometimes be the problem - just no opportunity to meet them. I think you should just carry on being yourself and doing what comes naturally - the way you write makes you sound quite normal, so (without actually knowing you) it is hard for us to say what is putting the girls off. Something certainly is: it has to be your body-language. Something in your personality. Haven`t you an intelligent guy friend or someone close you can confide in, and ask him if he knows what is wrong? Most of us cannot see ourselves as others see us. Some astute person might be able to tell you immediately what he thinks is wrong - but unless you ask someone to tell you, they won`t say anything. Most of us humans are too polite to go around telling others what we think is wrong with them!

whew girl please focus all u are doing is putting urself in misery. u can't have him because he's married and well ur not 18 and maybe when he says u two have a connection he means that since ur mature, u understand his ideas and even share some of his ideas. keep studying latin not the lain teacher. it's okay to fantasize even if he is that much older, but keep it at that. and maybe u can see all those other cute guys that are ur age. they might be as mature but if ur patient i think u'll find one. good luck

It is infatuation. Don't act on it. You will be sorry.

And, don't flirt with him. You might unwittingly get him into trouble. If you really like him and respect him, just be a good student and don't make anything of your feelings.

let it go, you are just asking for trouble and stigma for yourself and jail time for the teacher.
