Most men like a woman who is confident.... but not as confident as the man. If he has more confidence you will let him take the lead; he'll usually be the one to speak first etc. Some guys don't mind for a woman to be the leader, but they are the exception. So far as which one is more attractive or beneficial it depends on what you are looking for... I enjoy being confident, but a lot of men don't like it. If my goal was to attract as many men as possible, I'd hide it much more often and defer to them more often. Since I have no interest in those kinds of guys, I rarely hide my confidence.

The saying is "Children should be seen but not heard". It should make you feel much better then, to know that the people who are saying "Women should be seen and not heard" are obviously ignorant to the original saying and should probably be the ones to be silent from now on.

Men who say "Women should be seen and not heard" are almost ALWAYS going to be men who have low self esteems. Men with low self esteems are unlikely to be happy with a very confident woman, because she is likely to give him the verbal smack down if he's always bragging or trying to put her down so that he can feel better about himself. This kind of thing can be very hard on a man who constantly needs his ego stroked to feel good about himself. Hence why he would hate being around a confident woman and would definitely prefer not to hear what she might have to say about him.

On the other hand, it is usually very confident men who are attracted to confident women, because they feel good about themselves already and are looking for an independent woman who can think for herself, be an equal partner and give him a bit of a challenge. I've never heard a man with a good self esteem putting down confident women, instead, they're usually seeking them out.

there is a difference between being confident and cocky...that's a fine line...but men who said we should be seen not heard are sexist, it means ur appearance matters more...confidence and the best way to go, it is the more beneficial!

It will depend on the man. But, I imagine you can act with confidence and not say anything.
