You want a Nvidia or ATI graphics card with a minimum 256MB RAM.
That should play most games. Ask for help at the store if you're not sure.

First you need to find out what kind of slots are in your computer for video cards. I would open the case and take out the old video card. You should make sure this doesn't void the warranty on your computer. I would take the old card to the store (Best Buy, Compusa, Fry's) and have a salesmen help you find a new card. I would pick a card with a large amount of ram. I like ATI but there are other good card makers too.
