Whenever she appears interested! My ten year old wanted to wear make-up for a while, and I got her some tinted lip gloss, but then she lost interest. If she asks again before age 12 I would stick with just gloss. After 12 I would let her wear gloss, pale blush, and a light shadow. She has very pale red lashes so I would also let her try a brown or auburn mascara. When she starts high school she can go to full make-up if she wants. Make-up is a wonderful form of self expression for girls in middle school/high school. It can boost their confidence to feel "pretty". Just be sure to let her know you think she is perfect without make-up too.
A recommendation, though. Cheap make-up looks cheap. All the brands meant for young girls that cost no more than a couple dollars will look like it. Of course she doesn't need Clinique or anything like that but Cover Girl or Revlon will do nicely. Almay is also good because it is made for sensitive skin.

You know, I started wearing makeup at 11 - just concealer because it helped to cover the odd blemish, but slowly over the next few years I'd add a few things as I got older like tinted lip balm or mascara until I was about 14-15 when I got into it all. I started with brands like cover girl, loreal etc....the main drugstore brands because the rule was you want makeup you buy it.

I'd say 12-13 because that is when most girls start wanting to wear it. Just make she she doesn't pile it on and be sure that it doesn't look gawky. I mean it depends on how old she is. You could try starting her off with lipstick/lip gloss, eye shadow, and mascara. When you do get her make-up trying sitting her down and explain to her how to put on make-up. Cover-Girl is a good brand. It's what i use. I get it from Wal-Mart lol

there won't be one marvelous or uniform age. some women initiate wearing relatively of eyeshadow or lip gloss at 11 or 12, and others wait till they are sixteen. Heck, some women under no circumstances initiate wearing makeup! :) once you're questioning approximately wearing makeup, i might advise speaking on your mom approximately it- then optimistically, you 2 can paintings out a glance it is lovable and age suited. merely be careful to not pass overboard- it is probable appropriate to stick to ordinarily organic makeup till you're on your overdue youth, a minimum of. of path, it is all completely as much as you- positioned on what you experience sturdy in. :)

She will be a teenager then, let her wear makeup.
I'm 13, and my mom didn't let me wear makeup until I was 13.
When she is 13, she'll have the skill to put on the right amount of makeup. Any age younger than that is overdoing it.
And if she has acne (I do) and wants to use liquid coverup, buy her the oil free type. The oil type clogs pores... A LOT! Not fun.

Most girls these days are interested in make up when they see their mom/relatives putting it on. I think that when she asks is a good time to teach her that less is definitely more and even then I'd say that she need to wait at least until she was in jr. high. Even then it has to be something that her and I need to monitor as she gets older. I remember my parents didn't want us to wear make-up at all and my sister would walk out of the house with nothing and before class she would pile it on.
