I have been working on a math packet for the last hour and still can't figure out the answer to these last few questions. Help and explaination greatly appreciated!

Are these sequences arithmetic, geometric, or neither:

36,-12,4,-4/3

72,24,12,3

Please explain how you arrived at your answer. Thanks!

The first one is definitely geometric:
(36)(-1/3)^(n-1) is the nth term

The second is neither arithmetic nor geometric:
There is an arithmetic difference of:
-48, -12, -9
There is a geometric difference of:
* 1/3, *1/2, *1/4

As far as I can tell, there isn't a formula to describe this pattern. But, I'll keep working on it just in case.

1) This sequence is geometric, since you divide the subsequent number by -3.

2) This sequence is geometric, since you divide the subsequent number by 4.

This would be an arithmetic series: 4, 7, 10, 13, ___ as you are ADDING by 3.

an arithmetic sequence is one in which you add one specific number to get the next number. a geometric sequence in one in which you multiply one specific number to get the next number.

the first is geometric since you mutilply all your #s by 1/3 to get the next number.

i believe the second equation is neither since you can neither add or multiply one number to get the next number

I cherished it average. It became into an limitless progression over the previous credit that had various characters who had moved on and many new characters that have been lacking. i became into pleasantly shocked to work out Epiphany and Matt. Matt not often ever has any reveal screen time so i wish that his being interior the credit ability that he's finally going to get his very own storyline. i became into additionally dissatisfied that Molly and Morgan weren't there. i like them and picture that they are significant to the instruct so as that they might desire to have been blanketed. in the event that they have been disregarded using fact of time constraints they might have executed what they used to do interior the older credit and placed specific characters jointly. they might have had Molly and Kristina in one shot and Michael and Morgan in yet another and that way all of them would have been blanketed. My purely different situation became into the fort at the back of Nikolas, Liz, and fortunate. i assume it is optimal to instruct Nik in front of Wyndemere besides the shown fact that it felt strange to place Liz and fortunate in front of it. yet I enjoyed how they integrated the well being facility decrease back into the credit and that i enjoyed finally seeing Dante's marvelous face interior the outlet. average an progression over the final taking off credit.

the first one is geometric
to get to the next numbet *by -4, since the diffrence is inconstant and changing (but the rules to the pattern stay the same) it is geometric

the next one is neither i believe
there is no direct corrolation between the answers
