and now I just get a beep...pause..beep...continuously..any ideas?

i put the same battery back in...it won't even boot up it just starts beeping when i turn it on...Help Please!

Did you put the battery back in correctly? The writing should be face up.
When you removed the battery you probably cleared some of the settings the computer needs to start up. If you are getting one long beep and two short beeps check to make sure the video adapter is seated properly.

The question would be if you replaced the battery or no battery at all? One option for the asus boards it to hold ctrl key, then turn on the computer to enter bios/cmos. Or try to "reset" the bios, need the mb battery in place.
