I am by nature a peaceful person, yet I always seem to be a victim in conflicts.. I realized today, that I expect conflicts, i expect to be misunderstood, I expect to be not believed, because i was raised that way... I was told not to expect to much or I'd be dissapointed...

But today i realized that what you expect. Those things that you think about... are the things that tend to happen. Not exactly , but in general..

Do you find that?

Now that you mention it, you are sooo right. I never thought about it before, but I guess in a way if you expect something to happen, sooner or later it will.

I think I know what you mean- people tell me they think I am a calm and strong person, but I seem to have a lot more crisis in my life that most of the people I know. Maybe I am calm because I have learned how to deal with all the crazy situations life has thrown at me.
One way to avoid some of the drama and the crises is to refuse to be pulled into other people's head games. Always be honest, and if things get weird, just leave politely.
I think that YOU are the only person you can really expect great things from. Allow yourself to surprise yourself. You may not be able to expect riches and fame- but why not expect happiness, good friends, and stability? Positive expectations lead to positive outcomes. Even when life gets tough, tell yourself "I am strong, I have handled worse in my life, and so many others have a harder row to hoe than this." Then make a list- what are all the things you can do to resolve the situation? What can you do today? This week? This month? Within the next six months? Year?
By breaking things down into steps I can take today, I have managed to see all my children grown and settle in careers, go back to school myself, and I will graduate into a new career at the age when most of my friends are looking at retirement homes. Why not?
I have found that that I may not always get what I expect, but life manages to throw me some interresting challenges, and some happy surprises.
I hope life sends you strength, perseverance and good karma, kiddo!
Good luck to you!

Well, if you think positively then better things will happen to you. If you have a negative outlook then you are more likely to be depressed. Every once and a while ppl do things that really surprise me, but those are the times that stand out in your life. Otherwise, yes, I guess some things in life are predictable, but also I think you guide yourself to make those things happen.

Yes I have found life to be that way and it's good you have come to the realization that "you are what you think."
