Well, Dracula and the Anne Rice vampire series come to mind when I think of first person, and I absolutely love those...
But then, Thomas Harris books are some of my all-time favourite, and they're third-person.
Both literary devices have their merits. Both can be very believable.

I think I prefer first-person. One of my favourite series' is written in first person, it's called the Farseer Trilogy by Robin Hobb. I feel like I get more involved with the character that way.

yes. absoulutely.
I find 3rd person novels a lot less interesting that 1st.
because in 1st you feel like you're in that persons life, whereas in 3rd, it's more like someone is just telling you a story.

If the story is interesting, the narrative form doesn't matter to me. Although I guess I do prefer to "hear" the story from more than one perspective.
